Malagasian textile is defined either by the raw silk industry either by the cotton industry. That’s why there are several sorts of « Lamba » made with silk, cotton or mixture of fibres.
Malagasian iconic clothing, the lamba, is worn by men and women , for a life time and even after the death. It contains an ancestral culture. 
It is worn by the day as a clothe, by the night as a coverage, and as a belt to dance.
